A year at our school
Stage 3 Great Aussie Bush Camp
Three action-packed days, countless challenges conquered and memories to last a lifetime—Stage 3 Camp at The Great Aussie Bush Camp was an adventure from beginning to end!
Day 1 began with the thrill of the flying fox. Some students stepped off the platform eagerly, while others drew courage from the reassurance and cheers of their friends and teachers. The proud smiles at the finish said it all, with many keen to go again!
Raft building followed, testing students’ creativity, communication and teamwork and whether their creations would actually float! The evening ended with the County Fair, where teams ran activities and used their best sales pitches to attract customers. After plenty of creativity and friendly competition, the team earning the most money was crowned County Fair champion.
The adventures continued on Day 2 with archery, canoeing, bushcraft and the much-anticipated high ropes course. Students showed determination as they learned new skills and tackled each challenge with enthusiasm. The evening ended with trivia night, where there were plenty of confident answers and even more laughter!
Our final day took courage to new heights as students and teachers challenged themselves on the giant swing and rock-climbing wall. It was wonderful to see everyone cheering from below, offering words of encouragement and reassurance. Mr Annan and Miss McBride bravely made it to the halfway point of the giant swing, while Mrs Lane, Mr Ikihele and many of the students dared to go all the way to the top.
Camp was a truly unforgettable experience, filled with adventure, friendship, courage and countless moments of laughter. Miss McBride, Mr Annan, Mr Ikihele and Mrs Lane feel incredibly grateful to have shared such a special experience and created lasting memories with our wonderful Stage 3 students.
